Fresh off the back of his BBC Radio 2 ‘Album Of The Week’ and best-selling Amazon album “Brave Enough” in May, Mark Kingswood brings some much needed festive spirit to Christmas 2020 with his first Holiday album “Say Merry Christmas”.

Mark has announced the release of his second album of the year. During the first lockdown he found the ambition to knuckle down in an attempt to raise the spirits of his growing fan base for the Christmas season! With a strong passion to modernise the perception of what a ‘Crooner’ can be in 2020, Mark introduces fresh, original music for the big band and jazz pop genre as opposed to reworking existing song-book standards. Mark Kingswood brings new life with this festive masterclass.

With five brand new, original Christmas songs holding up their own alongside festive classics, his signature big-band pop sound and silky smooth vocals combined with his effortless ability to slide through timeless styles, this album truly delivers on everything that makes Mark, Mark. It highlights that it’s entirely possible to make a nearly impossible task a reality by creating a full album featuring over 30 musicians during extraordinary unprecedented
times.

Commenting on the album, Mark said ,“It was so good for me mentally to have a focus for the last 6 months. As artists, our industry has been rocked to the core, yet I just felt determined to have something positive come out of a difficult year for everyone. I sadly had to cancel my tour this autumn so I really hope this album brings a little joy to my incredible fans and anyone else longing for some festive spirit over the holidays”

“As people who know me will attest to, my biggest passion in music is creating new material as opposed to borrowing traditional song-book standards. The same applies to this holiday album. It does include five brand new Christmas songs, but I also wanted to record a handful of my personal festive favourites that I’ve grown up with and which are a big part of my family Christmases each year. It was important to me that I made a record which all generations could enjoy together. It was so much fun to put my own stamp on a few of the covers too, making the feel of the tracks a little different from the originals and bringing them into my lane”.

The album opens with the uplifting single “Say Merry Christmas” and within just a few moments the track explodes with all of all the festivities of nostalgic Christmas music. With an undeniably simple, catchy melody it is guaranteed to bring a smile to fans seeking festive spirit over the holidays.

The rest of the album follows in fine suit with beloved tracks like “Last Christmas” taking on a whole new soundscape and other iconic pop classics such as Wizzard’s “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” re-imagined with a unique big-band approach reminiscent of the great Rat Pack.

Born and raised in Kent, Mark’s early life was spent soaking up the sounds of the classic producers from the late 60’s onwards, including but not limited to producers such as Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson & David Foster.

As he grew older, his fascination with music transitioned to the writing, recording and production side. After spending many years of his life working in studios learning his craft inside out eventually propelling him to receive platinum and gold sales producing and writing for other established artists, It is now that Mark’s confidence and creativity has finally led him to the most exciting chapter of his career to date.

Mark has also appeared alongside Jools Holland as a special guest on his UK tour and is confirmed for major Festivals in 2021 to be
announced shortly. Mark was able to re-schedule the London show at Cadogan Hall from his own tour and will perform there on 1st December 2021with an added show at Birmingham Town Hall on 3rd December 2021.

In addition to the album release, included with any purchase of a physical CD copy is the chance for lucky winners to receive some very special prizes with the winning prize being a private performance from Mark at the winner’s own home in 2021. Runner-up prize includes concert tickets for Mark’s show at Cadogan Hall London or Birmingham Town Hall with meet and greet experiences.
